God: We believe in the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and their ministry in today’s world.
Scripture: We believe that the Bible, consisting of sixty-six books of the Old and
New Testaments, is the Word of God given by divine inspiration and is
inerrant in the original manuscripts. The Bible remains the unchanging
authority in matters of Christian faith and practice.
Humanity: We believe that because of sin, humanity is separated from God and in need of salvation which comes only through Jesus Christ.
Salvation: We believe that salvation is by grace through faith in God. The
Scriptures teach that believers may have the blessed assurance of being
saved. One can know beyond doubt that his sins are forgiven and he is a
child of God. Assurance of salvation does not negate personal
responsibility. We believe that it is possible for a person to
apostatize and forfeit his salvation. A growing disciple never asks how
much sin God tolerates but instead how close he can live to the Lord.
Church: We believe the church is God's light and messenger of hope in this world. All followers of Jesus should be connected to a local body for personal and corporate life and growth.
Growth: We believe that growth is the natural process in the life of a disciple. Just as our children grow physically, emotionally and mentally, so should a follower of Jesus. This process of growth could also be called discipleship. It is the call of Jesus to follow him and by following him, to grow as his disciple.
Baptism: We believe that followers of Jesus have been commanded to follow the example of Jesus in
water baptism, which is the public declaration of the personal decision to follow him. We practice
only baptism by immersion. If you would like more information about baptism at Mill Creek, click here.
